Our Story

From the our humble beginning as Aki's Sushi Bar & Grill in 2004, we have been a downtown favorite for sushi and Hawaiian cuisine since day one. Aki's later changed ownership and became Raw Sushi in 2007. Raw became known not only for continuing the legacy of great food, but also hosting some of Spokane's favorite club nights. The restaurant changed names again around 2011, when it became Wave Island Sports Grill & Sushi Bar. The addition of countless TV's made Wave everyones favorite place to catch a date and the big game, at the same time.

Fast forward to today, under new ownership, Wave Sushi Island Grill still boasts an amazing menu full of the favorites from over the years. Our taste of the islands and modern take on sushi keep people coming back for more. We pride ourselves on our genuine hospitality and being able to provide a fun, everyday getaway for our guests who become Ohana.

We look forward to getting the chance to serve you.
